Default not warming up, heater not working??

hey everyone,

i have a 99 chevy k2500 with the vortec 454, yeah its not n ls1 but idk a forum for this. so my issue is the truck will not warm up past 130* and the heater only blows luke warm, the heater used to make me sweat it got so hot.

btw, when i first got the truck it always ran at 160* even when i towed with it. so it has always ran cool just not this cool.

my only guess would be the thermistat is bad.

broken gauge? I find it very hard to believe your are only running 160* while towing. I would find it hard to believe the truck would run 160* or less when driving on the freeway in the cold. Are you sure the gauge isn't in Celsius?

yeah im sure, i have even hooked up a code reader to the truck which you can also see how other things are functioning, such as tempature, air/fuel ratio etc.
and when i looked at the temp, it was reading correct.

today i tried using the heater, it got warm, then went cool.

could the t-stat be stuck open not allowing everything to heat up??

Does your heater core kinda gurgle cause it clogged. Dex-cool has been known to do this. What does the temp guage say? That t-stat would be my first bet.
