V6 Camaro SHOCKING me!!!
Hello fellas,
Well my brother in law picked up a 91 Camaro RS w/a 3.1L, not running. Well a so called "mechanic"took it in where it sat for 5 months. Well I went with him to pick it up and I took a day off to help get it running. Well I found, after using my meter, that the pick up coil was at fault. I replaced it and it started just fine. I turned it off and replaced the ignition module and threw a cap and rotor kit on her because the old parts were well...old. Started her up again, noticed it would die when I hit the gas so I loosened the distributor so I could time it...when I went to turn the dist, it shocked the living heck out of me. I went to touch the coil and it shocked me too. I replaced the wires because a boot from the coil/distributor wire came off. I got them on no problems, turned on the car and went to time it again and guess what...yup, shocked me yet again. I replaced the coil thinking it was the problem and after starting it again with the new coil, it proceeded to shock me yet AGAIN.
Well I am outta ideas. Can Anyone help me out??? Thanks in advance

It's really not THAT uncommon to get shocked like that. There IS about 20kv on those wires, and if you're touching anything grounded - which you are, unless you're floating - you're susceptible to getting a shock.
