Default Drove through high water! HELP!!!

I drove through a deep puddle, when another car came past me and pushed water over my hood. my car died. i tried starting it back up, and it started for a second then died again. now when i try to start it, it makes a loud grinding sound. almost as if the engine were already running, and someone pushed the key again, only much louder. the motor doesnt turn at all. is it hydrolocked, or could it be something else?

Motor not turning over? Probably hydrolocked and when you tried to start it it ground the teeth off of the started or flywheel/flexplate.
