Default M6 shifter issue (hurst billet plus)

I have the hurst billet plus shifter, I noticed an interesting noise coming from the shifter the other day, sounded almost like can of change vibrating. It would only happen in certain gears at certain rpm. I took apart the console and found the culprit. Further down on the shifter stick, there is a metal piece that goes across, forming an intersection. In this, there are two small metal poles that stick out and go into the sides of the shifter (where the springs are). The drivers side of this area has play in it, the other side doesn't. I took out the sides and looked at the springs and they were fine. I put some grease in there, thinking it might help, but I doubt it.

Do I need a new shifter or do I just have one thats going to sound like change rattling for a while?

There are alot of bolts in that area, have you checked all of them? Also, with a cutout a lot of things vibrate after a while.

yeah... $90 is kinda steep to take 4 bolts off and put a new spacer in there.

Thats no good. Might have a hairline crack somewhere causing the sound your experiencing, if all the bolts are tight. Might be time to check into a new one.
