Default Kindof a newb oil question

I'm currently running valvoline max life 5w30 in the car. when the engine isn't quite up to temp the pressure is unreal, almost 60 psi when cruising, but as it warms up, the pressure gradually goes down to ~40 at cruising. I know that's about normal, but at WOT it barely goes past 45-50 with the engine warm. Is this too low or am I running too thin of oil? The car has 116k on it and has most of the basic bolt ons.

So maybe on the next oil change, go to maybe 10w40?

No, your oil PSI is fine. It will be higher at cold idle than warm idle or WOT because the oil is cold and thick, and that's normal.

First, these factory guages are not the best.

Second, there's nothing wrong with trying a thicker oil next time. Try a 40wt. Then try a 50wt if you want.

I run 20w50. I have 58-60 at cold start up idling. 45 while cruising after its hot. WOT I have around 70. When its hot on a very hot day while idling, maybe as low as 25-30. These are from my factory guage anyway.
