Rebuilt motor, cant make good power
My brother put a rebuilt motor in his car (ford). When he took it to be dyno-tuned it was making less hp every pull.
Went home and cut the filter open and there was some metal shavings in there and the oil in the filter looked swirly. Oil was changed already at 50 miles
My question is did he maybe spin a bearing already ? Whats an expected amount of metal in a filter after a rebuild ?
Thanks

On a properly done rebuild, the expected metal in the filter, pan, oil etc. is zero. You check just to be sure.
What you're describing sounds like he didn't do something right, and it's dead already.

That filter looks horrible. What ford engine is it? If the engine isn't making noise yet I am sure it will be soon all that copper in the filter is bearing material. Hope it has a good warranty
