I tried everything!! I need some help!!
Living in the rainy state of Florida of course my t tops leak, BUT that is not the problem. My t tops leaked last week on to my drivers side rear floor board and ran down under the drivers seat as well. The car sat for 3 days with the water on the floor board. When I realized it leaked I cleaned it up the best I could with some store bought Auto carpet foaming scrub and febreeze. Its been a week and my car still stinks of mildew. I have tried everything!!!! How do you get this smell to go away????
Thanks
Thanks

It still smells cuz carpet shampoo doesn't kill the mildew. First thing you have to do is thoroughly dry it out. If it's even damp, the stink WILL come back. Then, try some Lysol spray.
My youngest son became a statistic 2 year ago by driving into a flooded area. He didn't get hurt, but he got a real lesson in drying out the inside of a car.
Pull the seats and whatever else, pull the carpet if you have to. The mildew will grow just fine in the carpet pad.
Bleach will work, too. But that's bad for obvious reasons.
