Question Coolant troubles!! Help!

i got a friend that has a 94 z28. we would go out, cruising all day but when he would park the z28, coolant would be coming out of the reservoir....like if the car had vomited! i have never seen anything like that. he has already changed out the thermostat, added more coolant, and tried to "burp" the system. anyone ever encounter this problem before???

Sorry. Gotta ask - what concentration of water to coolant did your friend use?

My car just recently did this. Check the radiator cap. Mine was bad and let the water push back through the reservoir. Hadn't leaked any water since.

Boiling over of coolant means one thing, and one thing only......AIR is in the coolant system. Your temp needle can bury into the red 260*F and it won't boil over with the proper mixture of coolant/water, if the system is sealed with no air in there. My temp gauge has been up there a couple times and absolutely nothing happens, no noise, no bubbling, no boiling over.

Like mentioned, sounds like you may be lucky and just need a new radiator cap.
If it was a blown head gasket you would overheat and coolant would boil over almost immediately and constantly.
