Coolant Problem
Well today I decided to flush my coolant since it has never been done, with over a 125.xxx on the clock. I put in a new t-stat about 3,000 miles ago also.
I drained the radiator completely. Then I poured 2 quarts of distilled water in then 2 quarts of dex cool. I poured roughly anthoer quart of dex cool in the radiator the topped the rest off with distilled water. I started the car let it run with heater on
Now here is my problem. Driving down the interstate the temp gague is reading about 10-15 degrees hotter. At a red light the temp shoots up to 210-215 in about 2 minutes.
What is happening here? Sorry for the long post. Any help will be great.

Air in the system on the engine side of the t-stat.
You need to bleed the air out.
Take the radiator cap off when its cold.
Start the engine and wait about 10-15 minutes until you see the coolant in the radiator start to flow. (t-stat opened)
If the level drops...top it off with water.
Wait for the t-stat to close and the flow stops.
Wait one more time till it opens again and starts flowing...top it off.
Put the cap on...that should be good.

50/50 for cold climates.
Half jug or maybe 1 full jug of anti-freeze is all you need in hot places like South Florida. All I've ever used is a half jug of Dexcool, the rest water.
Plus, you didn't get all the old coolant/water out by just draining the radiator. Maybe a little more than half.
