Default Air Duct?!?!?

My 1998 Camaro SS is A/C is not blowing from the AC vents in your face. It blows from the floor and defrost. I have check the connects on the back of the A/C controller and also have felt out the back of the intake manifold and the hose is connected. WHAT ELSE COULD IT BE??

There is a vacuum solenoid that opens a door to the front vents. The A/C selector on the dash provides vacuum out to the various solenoids in the duct system. You may have a leak or a bad solenoid.

You want to trace the vacuum to the door. If it has vacuum at the door the solinoid that opens the door is bad or the door is stuck. If there is no vacuum keep going up the line until you find suction and you should find your problem.

The door/solenoid combinations are a bit complex.

What do the vents do when the control is on:
ACcMAX
AC Norm
AC BI-Level
Vent
Heater
Defrost

Based on that behavior, it may be easier to trace the problem to a specific line, solenoid, or door.
