Default 99 Z28 M6 - Diff and Trans Fluid

time for some maintenance on the 99 z28.

i am using synthetic diff and trans fluid.

Number of ounces of fluid for the manual transmission?

what weight of fluid for the differencial?

175K miles on the car.

The weight of the diff fluid is in the owners manual 75w90 I believe. Buy a good synthetic that says it has limited slip additive so you don't need to worry about that.

I use RP. Some sources say it doesn't last as long as others. Mine gets changed once a year which is about every 1,000 to 1,500 miles. I do get better MPG with RP over Valvoline or Castrol.

I buy a dif gasket and coat it on both sides with grease. This goes on easier and cleans up better than using RTV.

thanks david. i've always used the diff additive ... i'll have to check the RP tech literature out.
