Oil, too much?

Oil, too much? I just had my buddy change the oil on my car over the weekend. He said it was "just a bit over" the operating range mark on the dipstick and not to worry about it. I checked the dipstick today, car's sat since Saturday in the garage. Its showing me about 1/2" past the operating range mark. Should I be worried? The car is a LT1 Camaro.
