Default Remove headliner to remove weather stripping?

Im putting new weather stripping in my Firebird. Its a TTOP car. Do I have to remove the headliner to do this? I was looking at it lastnight and I cant tell if you can work around the headliner. I hate to remove it because I have heard horror stories of it breaking and being brittle when you try to remove it. Mines in perfect condition.

I cant imagine you would have to remove it unless it has something to do with holding it up there.
