How to turn off SES light without tuning software

take the PCM fuse out for 10 seconds with the car off... then put it back in and start the car... your PCM will be in "not ready" mode til it gets driven around a certain way and then the SES light will come back on

Yeah, taking the PCM out or disconnecting the battery will shut the light off only because the tests that are performed to determine whether the SES light will be on or not have no been performed. If you have the SES light on now, it's only a matter of time before it just comes back on when the tests are failed for whatever component/sensor is reading out of its threshold.
