Default Wierd problem with steering

Hey guys I'm having a problem with my steering and hope someone can help me. Last week i was driving down the highway and threw a belt at speed in a corner. I shut the car down instantly becasue it i watched the temp gauge peg, then had to start and shut down the car a few times while coasting to make it to the nearest exit. Once i got it off the road i parked it in an empty lot and went and got my truck and trailor and loaded it without power steering of coarse. The problem is since i fixed the car it seems the steering is very "light" and takes alot of wheel to turn the car, especially to the right. I'm completley clueless why all of a sudden this would happen and what it could be. I'm not sure if it would have something to do with the rack or pump. I have 285's in the front if that helps any. Any help would be awsome. Thanks
