Default Need part #!!!

Hey all,

Both of the bulbs in my HVAC control unit went out. I checked them with my multimeter - They are getting power, and the bulbs are showing no continuity. It's a small harness connecting both bulbs, yellow and black wires. The bulbs do not look like they are removable from the bulb (twist-lock) housings. Does anyone know the part number for that small bulb/harness? The closest I could get on GMpartsdirect was the entire assembly.

Thanks in advance!

I suggest to either to go to a junk yard or go to www.vpartsinc.com or call 1-877-846-8243, Vintage Parts. The harness parts number is 16159548 and they have 11 in stock. The part number for the bulbs is 7895189 and the bulbs retail for about $4.98 each at your local dealer!

"check the sticky - any auto parts store sells them." I thought he wanted the harness too, my bad. Sure the bulbs you should be able to get easily but if anyone needs the harness, then you'll probably have to get it from where I mentioned, or get a used one. VPI would probably ship to you in Europe.

Sorry for the earlier quick reply.

I just checked this post again and we're in the wrong section to find the applicable sticky. Its the lighting FAQ, that you can navigate through to from the Stereo and Electronics section: https://ls1tech.com/forums/appearanc...hting-faq.html

Even then, it maps to the Sylvania web site, which is kind of vague.

The replacement the bulb is a #37. It looks like its part of the socket, but should come out. The door lights have a different bulb, but a similar style. They are a real bitch to get out. I've had some luck by using duct tape and folding it over itself to make a pull tab over the bulb.

FYI - There are other posts giving information to put a #74 bulb in this location. Its the same size as the #37 and is used in the door handle. The difference is that the #74 is 0.14W more powerful. I would have to assume that the car was engineered in this way so the AC panel would not overheat, etc. Or maybe the #37 is just the perfect amount of light? Either way, you should be able to find them. Back in the states, some stores only sell one or the other.
