Do you have a smell of gas near the rear drivers side tire when you get out after driving it.
Also, next time you drive it for a little bit, stop and take the gas cap off....if the pressure rushes out then you know the tank, neck and cap are holding pressure. That rules out a leak, rust, crack, etc..... Then you know it has to do with the evap system somewhere.
If you have that smell..... I just went through my entire 1998 system to find my issue, and found that the fresh air solenoid in the rear that is mounted to the car right in front of the gas tank a little to the drivers side. You can see it if you just look straight up right in front of the axle a little over to the drivers side. Just reach up, unplug it, pop off the hose and slide it off the mount. Its there to suck fresh air into the canister so then the solenoid on the intake can suck out the gas fumes and into the intake. If that fresh air solenoid stops working, that canister backs up and the gas fumes get out and you smell them by that rear tire.
