problems with cats help!

Default problems with cats help!

hey everyone when i bought my 2000 camaro ss it did not have any cats.. so registration is due this month, so i went on this message board and bought the stock cats for the camaro i just put them in and now the check light still says i have no cats.. what should i do? are they bad cats? do i need to keep resetting the check light? any suggestions would be appreciated =)

So I'm guessing you have already reset the code, and the light came back on? Probably bad cats. (That would be my guess, at least)
Are you sure the 02's sensors aren't bad?

i was thinking that too.. but one cat is off a 2002 30k mile ss and the other is for a 98 ws6.. but its werid cuz both said they are bad.. and i doubt that happens both being bad like that.. and no other code came up for 02 sensors unless codes dont come up for them?

Yeah, you are probably getting P0420 for the cats, and the car will throw a code for a bad 02 sensor.
