Default Power Steering whining time to replace!

So it's time, my P/S pump is whining like crazy. My question is, is it actually the pump or the pulley. The reservoir is fine and I see no sign of leakage anywhere. Thoughts and input greatly appreciated.

Whining is generally caused by low fluid levels.

By the way, why are you jumping to replacing the pump? Is it just low on powering steering fluid?

Not jumping the gun, being that the fluid level is where is suppose to be
And it's not leaking. It's passed it's prime.

The pulley is pressed on to the P/S pump shaft, any bearings are integral to the pump, so it's not the pulley, there's no way it can be. Are you sure you don't have a hole in the return line? They don't always leak, they can suck air into the system too. Rack can do that too.

There are threads that describe a while associated with the pulley. You may want to search.
