The gear selector shifter keeps popping out every time I try and go in any other gear, other than Park. the cable and lever meet together at the park angle, so basically every time I try and shift out of it the cable pops off the lever. No matter how slow or fast.

I bought a new cable trying to fix the issue. It did for a while and now it's back. So something is causing it to do it, I just don't know what?

that is the new cable? i know the grommet goes bad on them, it should snap on there and hold tight. maybe the stud is worn? is the cable backwards where the grommet snaps on.
