So this...
So i checked all my fluids and whatnot today just to do a checkup like i like to do, check everything and unclip lid to check air filter and everything seemed good so clipped it back on. on my way to work the car was running great and i made a right hand turn and went to accelerate and the car fell on its face and started sputtering and running like dog ****. I pulled over and checked everything to see maybe if it was a vacuum leak and the idle didnt change. Loud nose coming from within the intake lid through the manifold, noisey tranny and exhaust notes that make me cry to hear and a check engine light just came on as my brother came and looked at it. What could these symptoms be related too? Knock sensor? cam chaft sensor? Im stumped, and is it safe to drive about a mile back to my house? gonna get a scanner and check the code tomorrow but just wanted some light shed on what the symptoms are. anyone?

Well, a failing or failed cam shaft or crank shaft position sensor could cause that. Vacuum leak can't.
When you get the code tomorrow you'll know more. If you do drive it though....just obviously drive it like a baby.....very little throttle.
The noise its making now is weird though, especially if its just a sensor failing.

ok so changed the sensor and nothing changed but the ses light is off. Its idling like its choking and bouncing from 300 rpms to about 900 and it barely responding to me giving it a bit of gas. do i need to disconnect the battery and wait a bit then connect it and start it up so the computer can restart?

Try that. You could also just disconnect the positive terminal on the battery, tap the battery terminal 3 times to get it to spark, then hook it back up. That resets the PCM too.
Or do the 30 minutes disconnected.
You might need to do an idle relearn also. Sometimes it will learn it after driving for about 50 miles too.

i unplugged it, i cant even get the car to move. checked all the vacuum lines and wires. all the gauges look normal. wondering if it might be a fuel issue. havent changed the fuel filter in about 2.5 years =/
