ticking sound from pass side

Default ticking sound from pass side

ok so i have been getting a ticking sound from pass side of engine it goes away after it warms up and today i slowly pulled rpms up to 2000 and let of when it was around 180 degrees it went away for about 30 sec then came back is this the notorious piston slap or lifter or could i be **** out of luck and be rod knock gues it wouldnt be to bad of luck though give me a reason to get the 408 ive been wanting

Ticking that changes with engine RPM is usually an exhaust leak. Piston slap sounds closer to a knock and is usually worse when cold. Factory exhaust manifolds can leak, but if you have headers its more likely that a bolt backed out/gasket cooked itself. Lifters can make noise too if you have high miles/beat the **** outta the car.

Make sure your spark plug wires arent arking on the exhaust. Pretty common and makes a very audible ticking sound.

^ thats true too. A mist of water can confirm that in a jiffy.
