Default Help - car won't stay running

2002 Z28 automatic, bone stock, 97K miles. I started it to let it warm up for work (19° outside). It was running fine when I locked it up and went in the house. When I came back out, it had died. Would not restart. So I got a ride to work. When I got back home, tried it again. and it would start and run for 1-2 seconds then die. Then would not start at all.

At first I thought it was a frozen fuel line, but it has since warmed up to about 60°. and it does the same thing. If it's sat awhile, it'll run 1-2 seconds then die. I can hear the fuel pump priming. If I try it again right away, it just cranks but will not fire. Gas tank is almost full.

If anybody has any ideas on what to check, or has encountered this before, any information would be appreciated!

Thanks.

Something in the fuel system sounds like a possibility. Are you getting good oil pressure when you start it up?

Dog-two, oil pressure was fine before it died. I never noticed the oil pressure since then - it only runs for a few seconds.

Oil pressure? I would check fuel pump pressure. The pump has to have specific readings at priming, idle and shutdown...

The car ended up needing a fuel pump.
