Default Windshield Wiperblade Size?

Hello All,

I have a 98 Trans Am. I know that the manual says that the sizes are 24 inches for both driver and passenger side wiper blades. My problems is I bought 2 brand new 24'' Bosch wiper blades, the driver side fits perfect but the passenger side will not completely lay flat on the windshield because part of it is resting on the plastic cowl shroud due to being too long. My question is, has anyone tried using maybe a 21'' or 22'' wiper blade on the the passenger side because of fitment issues?

Thanks!

Are you sure you have it installed properly, and that there isn't a problem with the wiper arm? Is the wiper arm stuck on the perch perhaps?

I ask because, I have specifically installed 24'' Bosch wiper blades on mine and never had this issue before. Furthermore, the assembly line issued blades for these cars were actually made by Bosch, and their 24" blade definitely fits without any issues.

Its normal for just about an inch to sit on the cowl when the arm "snaps" down. Just nudge it a bit and it will lay in its proper place on the windshield.
