Default A/C liquid/hard line replacement questions

So I broke my liquid line right where it goes down into the condensor when I was doing my cam install and I'm wondering what I need to do to get the a/c back working. Will I be able to just swap lines, refill with freon and go? I"ve heard somewhere I have to take it somewhere and let them suck the air out of it. Thanks

No need to vacuum it down. Just replace the line. Put a small can of oil in with 2 cans of freon (134).

My system was open for a few months. The dealership did my new compressor install like 6 years ago. They said there's no need to vacuum it down. Ice cold for 6 years now.

Can vacuuming hurt....no. Do it if you want to.
