Default Seat frame repair?

After 100k miles of butt (not mine)the center of my drivers seat feels as if I am sitting in a hole. I have new padding for when I r&r the cover but I was thinking, what if the frame need a little help? Is there anything I may need to have on hand to do the repair in one shot? Not sure how they are constructed. I searched this and supprisingly nothing popped up. Thanks. Brian.

There should be a set of springs, which run across the frame. The pad sits on top of that. If you feel a "butt hole," then its probably a broken spring.

If you stick your head under the seat (looking from the back) with a flashlight, you should be able to see the springs under the pad.

They should look something like this: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...abseats004.jpg

Good advice Ty, I did peak under the seat. The springs seem ok from the little i was able to see. I think what i feel is a gap between the springs and a bar underneith them. I will pop out the seat out and fill it w/ padding . If a spring is broken is there a repair kit or method for it?

Most likely all the foam padding in the seat is worn so what your sitting on is the springs themselves. Pulling the seat out to see if a spring is pretty easy and taking the cover off to view what you need isnt to hard either.

The cover and padding is no problem, if a spring is damaged how do you repair it? If there is a kit or any parts i want to be ready. Ty.
