Trouble after muffler install

Trouble after muffler install I had a Flowmaster muffler welded into the stock system 01 ws6 and now the car is acting very strange at times. The idle is high and the auto trans shifts later than it should, then suddenly the idle is normal and it shifts normal. It will do this over and over as you drive.
No codes or mil, I didn't scan it yet to see if its dropping in and out of closed loop but that's what I suspect.
