Default AC and heater aren't blowing

whenever the car is stationary the ac and heater don't blow at all on any speed. when I'm on the freeway going at a constant speed, the ac and heater seem to blow fine. but when I'm driving around the city it doesn't work. anyone know what the problem might be? car is a 2000 trans am btw

Does it stop blowing when driving in the city or is going from the dash vents to defrost? If this is the cause it's probably the vacuum connector that controls the HVAC. Driving around town, starting/stopping your engine vacuum isn't constant. Driving on the highway it is.

On the HVAC box there's a vacuum line coming from the back of the intake, there's a black plastic connector with three ports going to it. If the vacuum lines are good and not broken replace that three port connector. It's a one way check valve, it keeps the HVAC controls from loosing vacuum when you accelerate.

That connector is located behind the intake?

Yeah, if you are looking at the engine from the front it's on left side between the intake and HVAC box.
