Default Muffler exploding inside?

So I started my car up to take it to get a dyno tune today, noticed it was MUCH quieter on start up and driving, sounded clogged up. Asked the guy who put on my longtubes and he said the muffler may have fallen apart inside. I can't think of any other reason why the car would be all of a sudden much more quiet. It is a texas speed rumbler.

Anyways, the car had a TERRIBLE tune before with the cam and I guess the muffler finally gave out once the new longtubes were put on about 300 miles ago. I went ahead and got it dyno tuned with the supposed messed up muffler, and it put down 376 rwhp/ 372 rwtq cam only - 226/236 ASA. So does this sound like a plausible reason for the muffler dying and do you think the hp numbers were affected badly? Thanks

not really, not if it's a stainless piece and most aftermarket free-flow mufflers are quite simple there's nothing to really fall apart in them i don't think.
I'd would look more at the catalytic converters if you have/had them, a bad tune that caused cats to overheat results in them breaking up and if you blew chunks of catalyst back that could be lodged in the muffler.

I don't think your muffler fell apart inside. If it would have fallen apart then you would be able to hear a rattle from the pieces of metal that broke off inside there.. It actually happened to me once and it was very annoying lol

No i don't have cats, and i do hear something making sounds in the muffler. Before the longtubes went on by me, the previous owner had gutted the stock cats, maybe he forgot a piece and it got lodged in the muffler. Oh well, i'll just swap the muffler out and see instead of guessing.

The catback is a tsp rumbler i forgot to mention, and from what I have read there are spiral things inside the muffler
