Hey guys got a 2000 z28 6 spd and was wondering what happened lol Imade a test street speed pass and after my power steering went out I mean completely and I don't hear any whining pr anything the wheel is just dead in my hands help pls thanks

Did you check to see if the belt came off?

I checked it was fine so I just replaced it and found a lot of shaft play

If you havent already, I'd recommend replacing the P.S. Pump with a Turn One or NEW A/C Delco - everything else is hit or miss with 80% chance of it being miss / will work for 2 - 3 months then start whining. Havent had any issues with my Turn One in 2 years now.

Use a power steering cooler mounted in front of the a/c condenser and extend the hoses and use hose clamps. I actually have 2, looped together. The power steering cooler built into the radiator upper hose is an OEM joke. Mine leaked, although a tiny amount, thru the " cooler " assembly into the power steering lines. I was told I needed an entire new rack and pinion. FFS !....After this mod, and new fluid and bleeding, no more squeaks, over 1 year ago.
