Ah, that's been my problem all along. Such a simple thing to overlook! And cheap to fix. Thanks guys! Now all I got left is replacing the water pump and I'll be good to go!

Does the V6 have a vent tube for attachment to that lower nipple, like the V8's do?

They do not. That's why it was overlooked. Only the overflow tube and lower hose are on the pass. Side. Upper on the driver side with 3 hoses total so the fourth just needed to be capped off.
