fluids for a 99
ok guys, ive been searching and reading, i plan on changing my engine oil trans/rear end fluids soon because i just got the car and it has 25k miles on it so i think it would be good to change all the fluids
i plan on putting synthetic oil in the motor and rear (probably Mobil 1)
but heres the problem, i have a 99 t-56 and people say dont use a synthetic because it eats the material on the blocker rings or whatever. then people say use gm syncromesh but ist that a partial synthetic too?
should i just put some mobil 1 atf in there (non-synthetic) because i dont plan on screwing up my trans anytime soon
i searched about fluid for the t-56 and it seems like everybody talks about the trans fluids for 2000 and up transmissions

mobil 1 doesn't make a product that isn't synthetic...it would be just mobil but i don't think they make a dexron 3 that isn't synthetic (exxon/mobil) i'd just use some nice non synthetic dexron 3 mercon for the trans. then i put mobil 1 75w-90 in my rear which is where they are saying to put in syncromesh i beileve but just a regular 75w-90 would be just as good.

yes, you need to use the additive. you can buy some stuff called trans x posi additive thats 5 bucks or the GM additive at the dealer for 10 bucks but remember only 4oz of additive. i love my mobil 1 gear oil
