Default Could 89 octane possibly set off the lean bank1 code?

Could 89 octane possible set off the lean bank1 code although after i erased it it never came back on???? Could it possibly make the car idle rough and feel like its fixing to shut off (almost like its pulling the timing) yet it keeps running? Am i cheap for putting 89 octane in the car for one time although i heard these cars could run off of this

Yes 89 Octane is way to low, you will lose alot of power and gas mileage. Th carwil run like **** with that low grade of gas. I would only do 91, 93.

Uhh, 89 isn't way too low, the manual suggests 91+ but it also says you can run super, or regular unleaded also, but the car may not accelerate as quickly. 89-91 also doesnt have a difference in MPG. The power loss is minimal, and probably wont even show on a dyno. It also won't run like you say, it has low octane tables as well as high to base operation off of. With regular you would not be able to tell the difference between 89 and 91/93. But, dispite all that I do run 91 just because I always have, and I feel the extra $2.00 a tank is worth it. As far as making the o2 read lean, I dont think it would, check out your o2's, you cats maybe clogged aswell.

you can cheat and just get some 02 simulaters and be done with the whole problem forever though.

I had that code a couple of weeks ago along with a slight tick-tick-tick sound that I thought was an exhaust leak, it turned out to be a loose spark plug causing both!
