Need Some HELP Car is Ticking
I am new to this but I felt the part of the forum would no the most. But I just replaced the spark plug and wires. I took it out for a test drive ran great. But when giving it more gas like half or more. A Ticking sound starts on the drivers side. It does not tick at Idle. Does anyone know what this could be and what should I do to correct it. Thanks

please stop posting this in the Advanced tech forum. That forum is for design, calculations, and engineering and analysis, not maintenance issues.
1. what year/type of car?
2. any mods?
3. how many miles?
common causes for LS1 "ticking"
-fluttering AIR check-valves on the exhaust manifolds (normal)
-bent pushrod(s)
-broken valvespring(s)
-loose rocker arm, or bearing failure in rocker arm.
-exhaust leak

It does not do it when the car at idle or by just reving. If is under more of a heavy load. In a few weaks. A performance shop is going to do. GM Hot Cam with the cam, valve springs and harder pushrods. Plus QTP LT and ORY. But that sound really gets to me and its not really that loud. But you can hear it from the driver side nto passanger side

Check and make sure all of your plugs are tight and the wires are tight on the plugs. Maybe a plug wire is arcing on something else if its not on the plug all the way. Does the car have a miss or anything?
