My delivery car for work is a 94 ford taurus 3.8L, with Ram air. The water in the resevoir started boiling while I was driving.. but the car was only running hot, and not really over heating. I tried changing the thermostat, and put it in backwards..(yeah, im a moron). the car overheat in an area where i couldn't really let it sit, so had to drive it at very extreme temps, for a bad amount of time(it shut it'sself off, 3 times).

Anyway, I got home, switched the therm around, changed the oil, flushed coolant, all that good stuff. now it idle's kinda rough(shakes the car), and dies sometimes if I reverse with too light of throttle. It overheats fast, wether moving or not moving, and the coolant is still boiling in the resevoir.

the car has aluminum heads I believe, so I am thinking maybe they could be warped, or maybe the head gasket? or maybe something simple, what do you all think? I tried running it without the therm also, and still the same over heating results. help me pweez, I need my work car back. .

Those cars are known for blowing head gaskets, and thats what your describing.

my vote is a head gasket to, along with a failing water pump

I works on Fords for years, I have have to say that 90% it's a head gasket problem.
