Volt gauge ?

Default Volt gauge ?

my volt gauges is reading 11.5-12volts and my multi meter hooked up to the positive post under the hood reads 14.0V

what is up with my gauge and how do i fix it?

is that at the battery or the positive post by the fuse holder?

post by the fuse holder and the batt...its 12.8ish when the car is off and 14 when it is on w/ or w/o the batt hooked up

Don't worry about the voltage guage unless it moves into the red although... Do you have the stock alternator? If so something may be wrong because the voltage regulator pretty much puts out a dummy reading around 14 volts and doesn't fluctuate when charging, not charging, etc. I found this out after buying an aftermarket alternator and seeing the voltage fluctuate all over the place.
