AC recharge

AC recharge I just tried to recharge my ac, i hooked the vaccum pump up and got everything ready to go, As soon as I hooked the freon up the comp started making some noise, i thought maybe since it had been a while it would take some time to move some of the oil around. After a while the AC quit. does anyone have any suggestions.

well i went back out later and it started working again. I works great! really cold air but it still makes a little bit of noise, im not gonna complain when its this damn hot.

If you didn't fill it all the way the compressor will click on and off. When the compressor turns on, it'll pump from the low pressure side to the high pressure side until the pressure on the low pressure side gets too low at which point it will turn off. Then the pressure will equalize causing the low side pressure to rise until the compressor turns back on. This will repeat endlessly until the AC system is full.
