moter/regulator is 1 whole unit. I replaced mine with delco units but dont know about the auto zone parts. My experience with them is yeah there is a warranty but the parts are crappy. Would you like to replace it a bunch of times to get 1 thats works or just do it once and be done with it?

This just happen to me as well. I have the part on the way that I ordered online for like $20 or so plus ship. I didnt think about how long the part may last, but I guess i will find out, it also has a lifetime warranty.
