Default electrical problem

replaced front turn signal housings, harnesses, and new bulbs, everything worked fine, a week later the passenger side headlight went out, and a week after that the driver side headlight went out...now my turn signals dont work, hazzards work in the front and the rear, when i turn on the turn signal the green arrow comes on and stays on, and the turn signal it self turns off, it does this on both sides...my guess for the turn signals is the relay??? either driver or passenger headlight burns out every few months, and the guy at autozone told me it was prolly my alt. starting to go out, and of course the machine to test it wasnt working (my lights also dim and i have a 1k watt amp with no cap.) i also have 90k miles on my car, its a 2001 (yes depressing, i know) and it still has the factory alternator in it, im guessing that i should get a new alt. and upgrade to a higher amp rating on the alt.
