has anyone changed out their foglamps on a trans am?

Default has anyone changed out their foglamps on a trans am?

i got some new fogs which look like this



just wondering if i need to take off my front bumper cover to install them correctly?

You dont have to pull the cover but it helped me to drop the underneath cover that leads to the air going to the radiator. You can get your arms in then.

I tried to pull one out from underneath with the three plastic push pins out. It wasn't going to go without a fight. I think you definitely need to pull more than those.

You have to look around on that flap and see where else it is attached. It needs to give enough to get in there. There are 2 black plastic flafs on each side of that that you could remove too. They sure made it tough to get in there but you will figure it out.

I also had to make some special brackets for the lamps I put in. Mine looked alot like the ones you have shown. They are 200% better then the crap the factory had in there.

I got something like that, too. I also had to fabricate a bracket for it. I had the front bumper off so it was the perfect time to do the swap. I'm glad I did it that way, cuz it looks like it would be a huge PITA to do with the bumper on. If you were just swapping out stock for stock, then I would say leave the bumper cover on, but since you are dealing with aftermarket stuff, it will be a ton easier with the cover off.
