Default Shorting out

Here's the story. Last week my gauges flickered and my radio cut out for a slit second. Then the car just wouldn't start. So we checked the fuses and they were all good. Then we checked the battery and the top posts were good but the side posts were reading 6 volts. So we just replaced the battery and everything is fine. Until today. My gauges did the flickering thing and the radio cut out. Also when I started it, it didn't want to stay running, and I had to keep giving it gas (it's done this before). And then I started it again, ran just fine. I have no clue what's wrong. Someone said something may be shorting out. Any ideas?

I had that same thing happen recently; ended up being a loose positive battery connection. Tightened up the positive connection and it was fine. Guess it just vibrated loose.

Check the connections at the battery junction box on the drivers side.
