I dont have any pictures of this but worst engine failure i have ever seen was a 97 jeep cherokee 4.0 h.o. A good friend of mine had. We were racing another friends 96 shitstain gt. We were a good two lengths in front of him and just shifted into 3rd and i hear the sound i could best describe as silverware in a blender. I said its cooked bro about that time i hear what sounds like a grenade goin off. so we pull over and there is smoke coolant and oil all over the place i grab the flash llight and take a gander at what had happend i look at the side of the block and there a not one but two rods hanging out the side. I told him and he said really huh i shut it off. I asked can you crank it back up and damn sure that bastard fired right up and ran a good ten min before it died. When we pulled the motor we found that cylinders 4&5 did infact go threw both sides of the block and oil pan the only thing holding the block together was the head it also broke the trans bellhousing. Also i do belive that this thread will most likely get moved to another section

my 10 bolt, i stripped both axles, broke off like 8 ring gear teeth, the pinion gear broke totally off at the bearing and shot THROUGH the housing leaving a wonderful gaping 11 inch hole, and the posi broke into several peices

**oh and the pinion gear is still out somewhere on that country road, I'll find it one day

C4 transmission in a Fairlane shifted into reverse at 105 MPH...

Spiral cracked bell housing and case, miscellaneous broken internal hard parts, converter fins bent (we cut the converter open using a lathe).

i got a few. first one. i worked at a dealership and we had to clean up trade in's and put them on the lot. so i go over on the prelot and get this 1998 Olds Shitohoutte Van, 130k on the clock and i start it up, knocking like a mother ******. so i baby it over across the street to the wash bay. i go get my supervisor who btw is cool as ****. and told him to come check out the van, im not putting it on the lot knocking like that. he comes out and looks at it,tells me to start it and i do, its knocking like a mother ****** still. he says, untill it blows, we are still washing it and putting it on the lot. so i give it a little gas, very little and watch the tach climb above 1500RPM's as soon as it hits 1500.............

this one is what is left of the oil pan after i drug it out from under the car to take the picture.

its been a year since i blew it up and the oil is still on the pavement.

story 2. im at the NMCA races at National Trails in Hebron, Ohio and a pro mod car takes a 6 second run and pops the motor

in the oil pan is what is left of one of the rods.......... you have to look real close because the rod and the oil pan are both aluminum and kinda blend in.

These are not car related but are from a Harley V-Rod that was bored and stroked to over 1600cc, stock is 1130cc. This bike was running high 8's in the 1/4mi and is the World's Fastest Street Legal Harley-Davidson. Massive engine failure here, no parts were reusable. This happened at the AMA Prostar race in Gainesville last year running all motor, no FI or Nitrous is used on this one.

95 4.0 HO Wrangler It threw the first rod. It ended up in 3 pieces. I tore the hell out of the oil pan and blew out a chunk of the block (about 2x6x6). It also broke the cam in several places and shot one of the lifters out the oil pan. I'll get some pix.
