undercarriage cleaning question
hey guys 6 mos. ago i hit some snow and salt in colorado. right after that i hosed the bottom off with a regular garden hose by sticking my arm under there and i do that everytime i wash my car. do you think this is sufficient enough to keep the undercarriage clean and lessen the chances of rust? another question is, i think i may have some surface rust, when is rust considered bad? and how do i avoid it. thank you

1 word... "soap"
You can spray something on the bottom. I'm doing some body work on a truck of mine and I use a DupliColor Rust Sealer/Primer to seal the exposed areas when I'm not working on it. It's a very easy way to fix the problem. It's not as good as something like Lizard Skin, but it's better than bare areas. Best part is that it seals areas that are starting to rust. Just make sure it's not rusting through to the other side.
