Default nasty oil leak wtf? lol

ok i'm going to move my car today so my dad could move his truck (my cars a 2000 ws6) and i see the low oil light is on.. i check the oil and its down to the add more line or w/e, (cars cold) and i'm like wtf? i dont see any oil leaks in the driveway/anywhere on the engine. I've read about f-bods having a shitty oil system in that it leaks, but i didnt think it would leak THIS bad? like 3-4qts gone? wth... anyone with any advice on what this might be? and if it is the normal leak almost every fbody has is there a way to fix it?,

thanks alot,

michael

Put the car on jack stands and crawl under and find where/if it's leaking.

Your engine will use oil. How much depends on what kind of oil, etc. Some guys use a quart per 1k miles, some per 3k, and some none at all. It's probably not leaking anywhere. That's the ls1 pcv system for you.

What's the diff in the ls1 pcv and the ls6 pcv system? I read that the ls6 pcv doesn't consume that much oil,, ls1howto.com has a writeup on how to do it, would that fix my problems? Thanks a lot,

Michael

It's supposed to help a lot. I just deal with it. Others install catch can setups.

Thanks a lot,
Michael

Yea i had a similiar problem BUT is would only leak and little bit and as I was changing my fluids and I notcied a little bolt so I un bolted it and then I took off the crankcase sensor and then I put a new rubber o-ring around and now I have no leak and the car has sat for 2 wks. But like everyone else said put is on some stands and get under there and check stuff out.
