p1637, Think I found my gremlin?
So I searched through every thread that references p1637 (Both plugs looked looked fine, no corrosion or loose connections.). The wiring from the battery looked good to the connectors on the alt so I ruled that out.
I remove the alternator and drive it to Autozone to have them bench test it.
"It's good buddy, back to the drawing board"
Crap.
So back in she goes (alot of swearing later).
Out of Ideas, I pull the rubber boot off the positive lead.
It's always been suspect since the factory battery decided to leak all over my engine bay, THANKS GM!
I'm really hoping this is my culprit... whadda you think.
So I guess I should replace this anyway, but from where?
Should I just clip it off and rig up a new connector or replace the entire wiring assembly?
Thoughs, comments, condolences..?

Just to let you know the L-Terminal is the skinny wire that goes from your alternator to the PCM to let it know how it's charging. When the dealer removed my engine, under warrranty, they tore that wire and never repaired it. I would get the same code. i took it back to them and all the tech did was crimp the wires together. I went a step further and soldered them for a little extra insurance. Hope this helps.
P.S. Mine was a brown wire.

Yeah, that one looked ok. Plug was tight in the socket, and wire was solid in the connector. It may have failed somewhere up the line, but other than that it looked good.

Turns out this was not it, (after spending @ $35 to rebuild the wiring system)
It was actually a pinched wire on the cover of the PCM.
I was monkeying with it right around the time it failed, and pinched wire #15 in the clip that holds on the cover.
It's always the simple things.
