I am the original owner of my car, and while I did a few little minor mods to it, I never changed any of the hoses on my car. Can I get away with just changing the upper and lower radiator hoses or what else should I replace?

The car has 60k miles on it.

Also, this may sound like a stupid question, but what are the benefits of a 160 Tstat? My car has been tuned, and it runs nice and cool....(it's a 98, so the operating temperature is in the left quadrant of the gauge, not in the middle like in 99+ cars). My fans kick on way earlier than they used to, so will a different Thermostat gain me any benefits, or is that just something I can add to my mod list in the sig without really doing anything?

For 40-50 dollars it doesnt hurt to have a T-stat unless you're happy with how cool your car is running. Also at 60k miles their shouldnt be many hoses to change. Are any of the hoses swolen or look like they may crack?

They look fine...I am just concerned about their age.

I think you should be alright. It sounds to me like you take really good care of your car. I would not worry to much unless their are obvious singes that they may give out.
