Default ticking noise, bad?

I always heard that LS1s tick. but this is strange, it only really does it under load, and if im in a very high gear and low speed when i step on the accelerator. i think it may be an exhaust leak, but cant help but think that something is seriously wrong. no engine codes yet. btw the car has a flowmaster catback that is clamped on. i want a good exhaust because this one sounds ok but is too quiet and i know flowmasters suck for ls1s.

im not sure....it sounds like its coming from underneath-ish in the front. i can hear it after the engine winds down as well after revving. under heavy load i dont really hear it that much....but its definitally noticeable, and annoying. going to try to get video.

LS1's get piston slap & rough idler pulleys, but I would check your exhaust system 1st.

Does your cigarette lighter work. If not you probably have a blown fuse that is keeping the scan port from working. I blew my cigarette lighter fuse using my phone charger and didn't worry about fixing it until I went to have my ses light scanned and it wouldn't work.
