I always crack my drivers side window open a couple inches by just tapping the down switch 2 or 3 times - sometimes it starts going all the way down if I hold it too long, so I just hit UP to stop it. I like the feature, comes in handy going through drive-throughs.

When my passenger side window bit the dust it wouldn't work with either door switch. Worked with the passenger side only after a new motor - replaced the drivers side dual switch and worked fine. Got a buddy who will let you plug in their drivers side door switch? Don't think it's the BCM.
