Default Exhuast Noise @ 55 MPH .....

Does anyone know what could be causing a whistling sound at this speed? It generally happens when I'm cruising at this speed in 5 gear. It's starting to get annoying , if anyone could help I would appreciate it!

Could be the rear end whining a little. Mine does it from around 58-64mph, and then goes away outside that speed range. Does it go away at lower speeds or at higher speeds?

If it's exhaust related it would probably show up at the same rpm range in a lower gear and lower mph.

You may have to describe it a little better.

Starion I don't know if it is rear end whining but I will try to describe what I hear.

This whistling sound tends to surface when I maintain a steady speed of 40 to 55 MPH at higher gears (i.e. 4th and higher) with light throttle for a period of time. The whistling tends to die down once I step on the throttle but will come back once I start to let off. I've noticed that the only way to get it to stop is to let off the throttle for some time switch to a lower gear. What could be the cause of this annoying sound???

Does it go away at higher speeds?

My bet is on rear end noise then. If it's loud or getting worse then it might not be a bad idea to have it looked at.
