I have a 1998 Trans Am and the cats are bad, but recently in second gear my car has been bogging down... now i went to a transmission place and they said my tranny is fine so rule that out, is there anything else it could be??

I thought you said your cats are bad. GM has a warranty policy of 8 years and 100000 miles on all cars. And on 00-02 it was changed to 120,000 10 years i think. A clogged converter will bog your car down severely.

I have the same thing going on right now. my passenger cat has been going for a couple years now and now my drivers side one went. i have been noticing misfires and a rough idle lately so i'm changing them out now. i have noticed bogging in 1st or second by not so much in 3rd or 4th. but i measured the backpressure and my pass one is completly clogged. plus the inlet temp was about 310 degrees while the outlet temp was 550 degrees. so it is pretty much toast. i'd definately think about changing out your cats if they are bad.
